Timber and Twine’s Harvest Wool’s beautiful subtle colours are produced through the use of natural herb and vegetable dyes and age old techniques.
Our wool is spun in a mill in India and hand dyed using flowers, leaves, bark, roots and rinds. Flowers once used in temples and festivals or marigolds from the flower markets. Rinds from pomegranates, bark from mango trees, leaves from indigo and marigolds, roots from borage and madder, just to mention a few.
By purchasing our wool you are supporting ancient crafts and communities and natural colours that are gentle on our planet and her waterways.
Different concentrations and combinations of plant matter and mordants produce our colours.
Slight variations in colour batches may occur. Please remember natural products will have irregularities that gives it its unique beauty.
Please note that reds are difficult to fix, this particular batch of red will shed a little colour while knitting and its first wash will run pale pink. Please wash gently in luke warm water and do not leave soaking with lighter colours.
Please note some of our rich colours may have some colour residue which will wash out after the first two washes, it is advised to wash your finished garment before wearing .
CARE: gently hand wash in cool water with soft soap before wearing
